Metamorphosis of the Car Body
I have the completed steering apparatus lying around and I am still in the process of building the suspension mechanism, but I decided to begin work on the car frame and body, since that is the most complicated part of the entire car. Last month, I had built an adequate frame, but it was limited in space and didn't look as appealing as I had hoped for my super car. So I scrapped it down to a bare bones frame and began to build on it again. I love k'nex flexible rods so I try to make use of them whenever I can since those rods are so versatile and are able to suggest a smoother, more streamlined body. I always start building from the rear of the car forward because for me, I am able to build the foundation/frame of the car if I start with the back. Like I said, I am not done with the new body and have not even begun work on the front seat area forward. Also note that on the new body, the wheels were taken off so that I could work on the rear suspension mechanism described in a previous post. I still have a long way to go on the body, so it will change even more in the next few weeks, but I just wanted to give you an idea of where I had started over from.

Planned Suspension System For My Super Car
Originally, my super car did not have rear wheel suspension because I thought that there would not be room for an adequate suspension system. But what kind of super car would I have without at least rear wheel suspension! So I searched the internet for a sturdy suspension system that could be made compact to fit into car and I came across one on youtube by user gunner1089. He even incorporated the system into a truck that seemed pretty cool. Here is a video of just the suspension system itself. Although labeled compact, it is still too big for my car so I will be rebuilding the system into an even smaller mechanism. So here is his youtube video along with one of his posts from instructable.

Better Knex Steering Apparatus
A couple years ago, I made a knex steering column from an old instruction manual. It was fully functional with a working steering wheel and decent turning ability. Its major con was that it was so weak and would often break apart. Therefore, if I was to implement a steering apparatus into my super car, I knew that I would have to completely redesign a steering apparatus. This new one is much stronger and has much more turning ability. Unfortunately, I have not installed the steering wheel, so there is no control of the steering yet, but all in good time. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I will periodically be able to add to my super car, and this is only the very first piece of the puzzle, so expect more pictures of my progress in the future!

K'nex Car
Okay, so I've seen a lot of cars on the internet, but not many that I've really like that much. Also, I've seen a lot of cool techniques for cars, but lately, I've been thinking that I could put together these techniques and add some ideas of my own to make my own super car.
A Little Bit About Me
My dear fellow builder,
Sixteen years ago, my dad bought me my first lego and knex set. Fortunately, it was love at first sight. At five years old, I began to understand the basics of brick building and architectural forms, and was fascinated by it. Over the years, I built a slew of amazing structures and interesting mechanics. I collected many sets, which furthered my imagination. At this point, with school and two jobs, I can only build in my spare time, but since it is my passion to build with legos and knex, I decided to put together a blog sharing my various creations and learning from countless other, much better builders. I am by no means a pro builder or even a top builder, but I have built structures unlike many others.
Therefore, ultimate goal would be to show others a few of my creations, but to learn more from what ingenious ideas others have built. So, I will attempt to continue to build interesting structures and contribute new ideas and share on this blog my progress.
